When you receive a traffic ticket, you have three options moving forward:

  • Pay the Fine – This is the worst option. You will receive an automatic guilty finding and an adjudication (points on your driving record). This may lead to insurance increases, and point suspension of your driver’s license. You may be marked as a habitual traffic offender and your driving record will be marked with this violation.
  • Traffic School – No points will be assessed but your driving record will reflect the violation. Anyone, including Judges, Hearing Officers and Insurance Companies will be able to see this violation on your driving record. You might not be eligible to attend traffic school, and if you are, you will have to pay the traffic school fee and the fines. You will also spend your valuable time doing traffic school.
  • Request a Trial – This is the only opportunity given to you by law, where if successful, your record will not be marked with the violation. Anyone, including Judges, Hearing Officers, Prosecutors, and Insurance Companies will NOT see this violation on your driving record. You will NOT have to spend any money on fines, or spend your valuable time doing traffic school. You are also given the opportunity to negotiate a plea should you not win your case.

If your ticket is late and you have received a notice of suspension of your driving record, The Traffic Law Firm will provide a service to cure the suspension and reinstate your driving privileges (provided that you are eligible). Please contact our office at (305) 442-0243 for further information regarding this situation.
